Nan Sterman is an author, designer, educator, and a California leading garden expert. For nearly 20 years, Nan has reported on horticulture, agriculture, and gardening in San Diego County. Her combination of traditional techniques with modern technology helps teach clients about edible and environmentally friendly gardening at home and in schools.
Nan is also the host, co-writer and co-producer of the KPBS garden lifestyle program A Growing Passion, a show that gives viewers a fresh perspective into California and Southwest gardening.
Otay Water District’s Pipeline, a quarterly newsletter, features a garden column by Nan. Her stories offer residents within the District a guide to sustainable and low-maintenance gardening.
